What were some of your favorite recordings from this year? I thought about it after reading Oliver Sheppard's article:

My own thoughts: Blue Cross are definitely on my 2013 list too. Masquerade is the best 70s Siouxsie imitation ever -- sounds like Scream outtakes. Institute and Salome's Dance were new to me. Belgrado might appeal to those who like Closer era Joy Division and Gang of Four. I LOVE Catholic Spit and feel they should have the #1 spot. Anasazi and Crimson Scarlet should be higher on the list too. I'm glad to see Australia represented by Rule of Thirds and the Occults, but let's not forget Hex on the Beach from Brunswick.

Also, as usual most of my favorite recordings didn't really come out this year, but they were new to me/I just discovered them this year. This includes: Alaric's album on 20 Buck Spin, Atriarch's Ritual of Passing, The Burning Image reissue on Alt. Tentacles, and Lost Tribe's album on Blind Prophet.

Oh, and I'm eagerly awaiting this in 2014: http://sacredbonesrecords.com/releases/sbr3014/
